Why heron sleeps on one foot?

As eminently aquatic animal that feeds on fish, mollusks and amphibians, the heron whose legs are long, thin and implumes, ordinarily lives in swamps and small rivers depth.

Reach up to between 70 and 85 cm. tall, white plumage and beak are yellow.

Even sleep there, and I always do on one leg, because, apparently, while the rest are balanced better heat exchange between your body and the liquid medium.

It is usually a solitary bird, but meets in the community in breeding season, when nest in tall trees and get to bring up to 6 eggs. It is impressive to admire this beautiful bird.
