Facebook eliminates the option of not search and find you by your name

The social network wants to make your profile searchable at Graph Search.

The "Who can find a biography by your name?" disappear from the Facebook privacy settings, so that anyone can find you. Those who have restricted this alternative
will be notified shortly.

Facebook began to delete this option in December for all those people who had not previously activate it, and now is deleting the rest. The social network hopes that people use privacy filter each message to control who can or can not see what you post.

What is it about?

The "Who can find a biography by your name?" is actually quite confusing. It seems to have strangers not find your profile. That's not necessarily so, because Facebook allows people to come to the profiles not only by name but also by clicking photos of you, in the list of friends of a friend, or watching tastes in common. If a person comes by these other roads will not be blocked from your profile.

Keeping the option "Who can find a biography for your name?" thus gave a false sense of safety, where people thought their profile could not be seen by strangers, when in fact they could be found.

However, Facebook is not providing better security options. What matters is to push Facebook Graph Search, its new search system that allows you to search for any feature that you have given to the social network. For example, searching for "people who live in Mexico City" or "people who like the movie Titanic" will appear in the results all the people who have lived there or because you liked that movie, or even worse combinations.

There is no way to hide the Graph Search, unless you manually hide the visibility of each part of your profile, one by one. This may take time: You will have to review all the data you put in the "info" and set to be visible to "friends only" or "just me".

Facebook could offer a quick option to block all your profile information, but does not. You could also offer an option to not show up in search results, but then your business does not work. He wants you to find. Graph Search wants to have it all.

Recall that the profile picture and the big picture to go to the beginning of your page are always public, and that the only way anyone can see is not blocking that person. We just can not block those who we do not know.
