It is said that the increase from six to seven billion will take a dozen years, as happened with the passage of five thousand to six billion, which occurred in 1999. Both events are unprecedented in history.

United States and Canada are nations that are experiencing a larger increase in the population, both by immigration and by the natural population growth since birth and is now outnumber deaths.

The report attributes the high birth rate and the large number of young people the greatest population growth in developing countries, especially in Africa where women have six or seven children throughout their fertile life.
